The B.RIGHT SPACES Cartography of Civic Spaces

Cinema Troisi (IT)

The Cinema Troisi is located in the historic district of Trastevere in the centre of Rome (Italy). Its inclusive and participatory model has earned national recognition, with multiple “Biglietto d’Oro del Cinema Italiano” awards, confirming the public’s strong appreciation and the effectiveness of its community-based approach.

Cinema Troisi is managed by the young members of the Piccolo America Foundation, who oversee its operations, programming, and public events, including summer outdoor screenings across the city.
After years of neglect, the historic theatre was restored and reopened in 2021 thanks to the determination of the “Piccolo America kids,” who transformed their dream of reviving a cultural venue into reality. The transition from association to foundation has enabled Piccolo America to pursue civic, solidarity and social goals on a non-profit basis while promoting the collective enjoyment of film culture.
The Foundation plays a pivotal role in connecting public institutions, private sponsors, creative professionals, and community organisations. Acting as a catalyst for collaboration, it fosters trust, transparency, and mutual respect, transforming potential fragmentation into a cohesive cultural ecosystem.
