Comunalitat de Manresa (ES)

Comunalitat de Manresa was established within the framework of the Comunalitats Urbanes programme promoted by the Department of Empresa i Treball of the Generalitat de Catalunya, which supports community-based economic networks across Catalan cities. Launched in Manresa around 2022, the initiative receives structured public funding aimed at fostering collaborative, inclusive, and locally rooted socio-economic development.

The project is managed through intercooperation among five promoting entities that jointly coordinate activities and share responsibilities. It operates as a community infrastructure that integrates volunteer engagement with organised participation and professional support. Its activities are sustained through public funding, partnership agreements, and co-management principles rooted in the values of the social economy. Operationally, the initiative focuses on facilitating grassroots projects, coordinating community mapping processes, and providing participants with tools, resources, and strategic alliances to strengthen community-led initiatives and intercooperation.

Comunalitat de Manresa implicitly upholds fundamental civic and economic rights recognised in Spanish and Catalan legislation. It is grounded in the rights of assembly and association by enabling collective participation in community projects, organisations, and shared decision-making. Through its integration into the social economy framework, it supports the freedom to undertake economic activity by fostering community-led enterprises, cooperatives, and mutual initiatives. The initiative also operates under principles of non-discrimination and equal access, remaining open to all residents and organisations regardless of background or identity, and promoting equal participation, social inclusion, and mutual support in line with democratic and social-economy values.
