Warsaw Social Innovation Laboratory “Synergy” (PL)

Warsaw Social Innovation Laboratory “Synergia” (WLIS “Synergia”) started as a result of the City of Warsaw’s formal, top-down revitalization efforts aimed at breathing new life into the historic Praga-Północ district.
The initiative was conceived as a project within the City of Warsaw’s official “Integrated Revitalization Program for 2014-2022 (with a perspective until 2023)”. The city government planned specific investments to tackle social and physical degradation in the area.
The main goal of the Laboratory is to diagnose social needs and design innovative solutions that will contribute to improving the quality of life in the community. These activities are often implemented using the Living Lab formula, a real-life laboratory that engages residents in the process of creating new solutions. The initiatives also include linking the world of business and the social sector, exemplified by a pilot collaboration platform.
